iPod Touch Apps for $

Steve Jobs announed at his Macworld keynote speech, that Apple will begin selling applications for the iPod Touch. They are: mail, stocks, weather, maps + chapter/ lyric support (new). You may recognize these apps from the iPhone, which is great, except that it’s going to cost iPod Touch owners $20 to get them. Unless of course you’ve jailbroke your touch.

Plz, what a rip off. As if the iPhone wasn’t enough of a rip off already, these apps are fail.

this is stupid the jailbreaking community had the idea for native apps on the itouch long before mac…atleast they arent stealing the program like some companies…(microsoft)

Apparently new Touch owners will get the apps bundled, it’s the older owners who are getting boned.

Or you could stay on a jailbroken 1.1.2.

yep ive already sent apple feedback about it, it costs apple $0 to take these apps and theoretically, copy-paste them to your touch. in fact the apps are already IN the 1.1.3 update, all the $20 is puts a 16KB file on your touch, authorizing it to use the new apps and features. theres no reason to charge for this. as of right now, im staying on 1.1.2 until 1.1.3 is FULLY jailbroken. when that happens im sure they’ll figure out how to unlock the new apps without paying the $20. or even easier, just copy the iphone 1.1.3 apps over ;)

I’ve read some articles saying that these upgrades might be free for customers who bought the touch after 1st January

    if true how to proceed??
I bought mine in canada by the way.

    thanks
